Serious bug affecting movement timings

Postby pliget » Wed Feb 01, 2012 12:37 pm

I have noticed for a while now that existing movement times behave strangely when you click around. For instance the explorer issue noted elsewhere. But it seems that unit arrival times are definitely being altered by the clicking of other, unrelated buttons on the screen.

Just now I set a series of attacks to rid myself of some excess scouts. I had cleared the receiving village of all other troops but had some returning reinforcements arriving a few seconds after the penultimate attack and a minute before the final attack. No problem, I thought. I will just send the reinforcements out again immediately they arrive and all will be well.

I was watching alternately the incoming/outgoing movements and the total troop numbers in the village as the attacks started to hit which meant I was clicking on buttons as they arrived. I found out that somehow the returning reinforcements had arrived early (or the penultimate attack arrived a few seconds later) as this penultimate attack ended up facing the returning reinforcements. The final attack was ok as I was able to send the remaining reinforcements away, despite my shock at seeing the carnage.

I am certain of the timings above; that there was ample time to avoid any confrontation. I am pretty certain therefore that the action of clicking on buttons somehow affects movement timings resulting in a loss of some 1000 knights which should not have happened.

This could have very serious repercussions on the game as it depends on split second timing and, very often, when one is attacking/being attacked, one is monitoring the situation at the time of attack and, quite probably, clicking buttons to check different screens.
