I haven't read the Taming of the Shrew either... have no idea what it has to do with the desert and glassmakers.

Or wait... does it have somethign to do with compromise?

Hey hey, I'm still 'Mr.' you know!

And Shakespear wrote ( or replicated! :) ) quite a few books. I feel no need to read them all simply because they are famous.

In all seriousness, it should read:

"Due to the harsh conditions, a settlement built here gains a 7% defence bonus."
I take it that "defence" is the British way of spelling the word, rather than the American "defense".
For the next sentence, I think it should be consistent with the terminology in the building guide. The building guide calls it a "Glass Maker". Either the guide should be changed to "glassmaker's", or the desert description should be changed to "Glass Maker". Either would technically be correct, but consistency would be nice.

Its a Magi only building, you can see it in the guide if you click the Magi tab at the top.

The effect it has on game is that your merchants regenerate faster.

The -0 on prerequisites is a bug where the guide is not picking up properly that you can only have 1 per player.

Same for:
  • 'Holy Grove'
  • 'Cloister'
  • 'Glass Maker'
  • 'Vintner''s Shop'

Is on list of things to do to improve guide along with:
  • stating unit types (infantry, mounted etc)
  • terrain prerequisites
  • resource field prerequisites
  • Better indication of exclusive buildings
